Fiat Punto Evo Electric Power Steering Fault

The Fiat Punto Evo Electric Power Steering failure is very common problem on models built from 2010 onwards, the common problems you will find is where the steering can become heavy in one direction and can fail completely without warning causing the steering to become heavy in both directions, the steering may return to normal once the engine has been restarted, this can be an intermittent fault that will always get worse with time.

The common faults that will indicate that your Punto Evo Power Steering Column is faulty are:
1. Heavy steering in one or both directions.
2. Intermittent loss of steering.
3. Steering pulls to one side (Self steer).
4. Steering vibration when turning either way.
5. Fault code 'C1002 - steering column torque sensor'
6. Power steering light illuminating on the dash.
