Fiat Punto Electric Power Steering Column Fault

This electric power steering column on the Fiat Punto (188) Mk2 is very common fault, usaully starts off intermittent but always leads to total failure causing the steering to fail in both directions.

Common Faults:
1. The Electric motor is usually intermittent but always leads  to complete failure.
2. There are several components inside the ECU can also fail and cause the  ECU to shut down.
3. The Torque/Angle sensor inside the column can fail  causing the steering to become heavy in one direction or  both.

C1005, C1006, C1007, C1008, C1016
